The FMI is a dynamic, contemporary organization dedicated to public sector financial management. The FMI serves both financial and other officers and managers with financial responsibilities from the federal, provincial and municipal levels of government as well as private sector firms providing services to government. Membership benefits include networking and professional development opportunities, membership discounts and information:

Networking and Professional Development:

The Capital Chapter offers a broad range of PD Days. These events are especially geared to provide you with an opportunity to discuss and share ideas on current government financial and related issues, to learn about the most up-to-date practices and technologies applicable to government financial administration, and to develop technical and managerial skills. The Capital Chapter has about 600 members with representation from most federal government departments. Attending any of our events provides you with a tremendous opportunity for networking with colleagues in other departments. As well, the FMI National has almost two thousand members from across Canada, some of whom you may meet at the two national events held annually; Professional Development (PD) Week and the Public Service Managers Workshop (PSMW)

Discounts:

Members are offered a discount on all chapter events. In fact, the member discount for one seminar saves you twice the equivalent of your annual membership fee. After one seminar, your membership has paid for itself and you save money on every other event you attend. As a member, you will also be entitled to discounts at the two national events.

The FMI Capital Chapter offers, to our commercial partners, an opportunity to be associated with our seminars or activities by making a contribution towards the cost of running each event.

Information:

Membership entitles you to be on our mailing list which means you will receive the Capital Chapter's annual Calendar of Events, the fmi journal, a national publication dedicated to public sector financial management issues.

Due to the high cost of our seminar announcement mailings and to become more environmentally friendly, the Capital Chapter has decided to eliminate hard copy mailings and distribute our information electronically. All of our seminar announcement flyers will be posted on this website as they become available.
